Job Details Location: Des Moines, IA 50309 (Des Moines healthcare jobs / Iowa nursing jobs) Estimated Weekly Salary: $2870–$3020/week Assignment Length: 13 weeks (March 23, 2026 – June 22, 2026) Job Type: Travel Nurse / Travel RN – Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) at a Level 1 Trauma Center Shifts: 4 x 10-hour days (Mon–Fri, 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM) with a rotating day off On-Call: Up to 2 overnight calls per week and 4 weekends per 13-week contract (weekend call Fri 5 PM – Mon 6:30 AM) Hours per Week: 40 Scrubs: Provided EMR: EPIC (recent EPIC experience required) Qualifications / Job Requirements Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license (required at time of submission) Minimum 2 years recent Operating Room RN experience within the last 24 months (travel RN experience preferred) Strong, hands-on experience in Cardiac, Vascular, and Thoracic cases (CVOR Registered Nurse / cardiac OR experience required) Scrub experience including open heart scrubbing (required) General Surgery circulating experience (required) EPIC EMR experience within the last 3 years (required) BLS certification from AHA or ARC (required) Previous travel assignment completed within the last 12 months (no first-time travelers) Trauma Level I or II experience highly preferred (experience in Level 1 Trauma Center environments) Ability to float across multiple campuses as needed (Iowa Methodist Medical Center and Iowa Lutheran) Professional reference from a supervisor/manager within the last 24 months (preferred) Valid driver’s license (required) Responsibilities Circulate and scrub for a broad case mix: cardiac (including open heart), vascular, thoracic, trauma, neurosurgery, ortho trauma, gynecology, urology, transplant, plastics, ENT, and pediatrics Perform efficient room turnovers (expectation Utilize advanced surgical technology including DaVinci robotic systems, Stealth neuro navigation, and Synthes/Stryker ortho trauma equipment Deliver high-quality perioperative patient care in a fast-paced Level 1 Trauma Center environment Float between Iowa Methodist Medical Center and Iowa Lutheran campuses as needed Participate in on-call rotation including overnight and weekend coverage Document all care, procedures, and perioperative notes accurately using EPIC EMR Ready to take the next step in your operating room nursing career?
