About the Internship: The Learning & Safety Intern supports training, onboarding, and workplace safety efforts within a manufacturing environment. This role helps ensure employees are trained to work safely, consistently, and efficiently while gaining hands-on experience with manufacturing operations, standardized work, lean practices, and safety systems. Location: 851 Hemlock Road, Morgantown, PADuration: Approximately 13 weeks (May 18th – August 14th)Compensation: $18.00 per hour Must be authorized to work in the United States and provide your own housingInterns will support key company initiatives, with responsibilities that may include:Training & Learning SupportAssist with new hire onboarding and safety orientation, including maintaining documentation and training records Support hands-on training activities in production areas Help develop, update, and maintain training materials, including work instructions, standardized work documents, visual aids, and job breakdown sheets Track training completion and maintain accurate training matrices Observe production processes to identify training gaps and improvement opportunities Support cross-training and employee skill development initiatives Safety SupportAssist with safety audits, inspections, and observations on the manufacturing floor Help document, track, and follow up on safety incident reporting and corrective actions Support PPE compliance, ergonomics evaluations, and safe material-handling practices Help maintain safety documentation, signage, and communication boards Support safety communication and awareness initiatives Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on injury reduction and standardized work methods Administrative & Project SupportOrganize and maintain digital and physical training and safety records Prepare basic reports, spreadsheets, and presentations Coordinate schedules for training sessions and safety-related activitie Required Skills & QualificationsCurrently pursuing a degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Human Resources, Education/Training, or a related field Strong interest in workplace safety and employee development Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint or Google equivalents) Ability to follow instructions and work in a manufacturing environment Comfortable spending time on the production floor (standing, walking, PPE required) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Effective verbal and written communication skills What You’ll GainHands-on experience supporting safety and training programs in a manufacturing environment Exposure to lean manufacturing and standardized work practices Experience with onboarding, training documentation, and safety systems Mentorship from Safety, Operations, and Learning professionals Opportunity to contribute to meaningful continuous improvement initiatives Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
