Job DescriptionField Service Technician Pay: Up to $40/hr (based on experience) Travel: Up to 75% (primarily domestic, occasional international) Overview We're seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers after equipment has shipped. This role focuses on installation, training, troubleshooting, and ongoing support of automated packaging machinery. When not traveling, you'll work out of the corporate headquarters testing and checking out machines prior to shipment. If you enjoy hands-on electro/mechanical work, customer interaction, and seeing equipment come to life in the field, this is a great opportunity. Key Responsibilities Customer Support & Field Service Install, repair, maintain, and test equipment at customer sites Provide hands-on training for new and existing customers Serve as a technical resource for customer questions related to equipment design and operation Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and determine effective solutions Follow all company and customer safety procedures and protocols Build long-term, trusted customer relationships Internal & Factory Support Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) as required Checkout and test completed machinery prior to shipment Assist with machine assembly when needed Provide technical phone support to customers Communicate new customer opportunities to the sales team Documentation & Reporting Create timely, detailed service and trip reports Document processes, troubleshooting steps, and customer interactions Share information and collaborate with internal technical teams Required Skills & Qualifications Strong electro/mechanical troubleshooting abilities Solid understanding of how machinery interfaces with customer equipment and processes Ability to diagnose root causes using testing and measurement techniques Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proven ability to remain calm and effective under pressure Strong organization, time management, and computer skills Valid driver's license and ability to operate company/rental vehicles Experience & Education High school diploma or GED required 3-5+ years of experience as a Field Service Technician or in a customer-facing technical role Experience with packaging equipment strongly preferred Filling equipment experience is a plus Technology & Equipment Experience Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service industrial equipment Physical & Work Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs Flexible schedule with significant travel requirements Field-based work at customer facilities Compensation & Perks Hourly pay up to $40/hr Travel opportunities with exposure to diverse customer environments Hands-on, technical role with autonomy and variety Opportunity to work on complex, custom machinery Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or genetic information.
