Position Type: Teaching -Special Education Date Posted: 12/16/2025 Location: Administrative Center Job Summary: This position is responsible for the diagnosis, prognosis, prescription, remediation, and the intervention of speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Incumbent evaluates and treats children who have difficulty speaking, listening, reading, writing, or swallowing. Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct speech and language screenings for referred students. Provide a comprehensive evaluation of speech and language skills as part of the multidisciplinary team evaluation/reevaluation for referred and enrolled students. Develops educational speech/language treatment plans, interventions, and/or materials for the purpose of minimizing the adverse impact of communication disorders in educational settings in compliance with established federal, state and local regulations. Participate in the Child Study/MTSS Team process, the Multidisciplinary Evaluation Process, and student Individual Educational Programs, providing recommendations for instruction in the areas of speech and/or language. Work cooperatively with other staff in providing an integrated approach to therapy/instruction, including the use of augmentative communication and assistive devices. Meet as necessary with parents/guardians/family members to confer on student progress. Complete records and reports to meet established timelines and standards in compliance with Federal and State regulations and standards. Prepare for program of study assigned and show written evidence of planning and preparation upon request of the immediate supervisor. Provide instruction and support for individual student differences and collaborate with appropriate professional staff to address individual or group needs and make recommended modifications or accommodations. Provides speech/language therapy to students in a consistent and productive manner, and in compliance with established federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines. Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with parents, students, community and other staff. Accurately assess student progress, maintain records, and communicate with appropriate staff and/or parents regarding speech and language development, including implications of a speech and language disability and therapy. Maintain confidentiality regarding student records and classroom affairs as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation. Accurately maintain required student records and progress reporting. Recommend assessment instruments, instructional materials, and equipment for purchase; prepare purchase orders as needed. Assist the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct, and develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedures, and maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner. Maintain a knowledge base of current information in the field of speech and language development and communication disorders to facilitate the delivery of a quality and comprehensive clinical program. Comply with regulations and provisions specific to working with exceptional students, including but not limited to Giftedness, IEP's, Section 504 service contracts and Health Plans. Maintain accurate and orderly monthly therapy plans and schedule of therapeutic services assuring confidentiality as required by state and federal law, in order to support monthly ACCESSS/Medicaid Medical Billing for students. Performs other related work as required. Education and Experience: PDE Instructional Certificate in Special Education- Speech and Language Impaired or Educational Specialist Certificate for Speech and Language Pathologist (required); American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence(ASHA-CCC) and PA licensure (required) Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology PA Driver's License (required) Other education/experience as accepted by the school board and administration
