Secure Voice / COMSEC Engineer (vIPer)

Duration: 6+ months Compensation: $65-80/hr Location: Seattle, WA U.S. Citizens and those authorized to work in the U.S. are encouraged to apply. Responsible for engineering, configuring, and supporting secure voice and COMSEC environments, with a strong focus on vIPer phone systems, SCIF telecommunications, and COMSEC accountability. This role requires hands-on technical execution and strict adherence to COMSEC policies and procedures. Core Responsibilities: Engineer and support secure voice (vIPer) and VoIP infrastructure in SCIF and closed environments Coordinate secure telecommunications development with internal teams, mission partners, and government stakeholders Support Facility Security Officer requirements related to SCIF design and accreditation Troubleshoot secure voice connectivity using strong OSI model knowledge Configure vIPer phones, including software upgrades, device keying, programming, and DID association Perform vIPer installations, upgrades, rekeys, and operational support Troubleshoot V.150 protocol and other secure voice connectivity issues Develop and maintain runbooks and standard operating procedures for technical and COMSEC activities Train partner teams to support ad-hoc secure voice and COMSEC requirements Maintain 100% accountability for all COMSEC material across multiple accounts and sites Perform COMSEC backups, system upgrades, reconciliations, and inventories Operate and maintain fill devices (KIK, SKL, SDS) Prepare, package, and ship COMSEC material in accordance with mission partner policies Required Skills and Experience: 5+ years of COMSEC experience, with emphasis on secure voice and vIPer engineering Experience serving as Primary or Alternate COMSEC Custodian Hands-on experience with vIPer phone implementation and support Proven experience developing COMSEC SOPs (annual rekey, vIPer upgrades, STE use) Strong understanding of COMSEC accountability, audits, and material control Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field Preferred Experience: Experience communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including leadership Experience interpreting and executing COMSEC policies, procedures, and program guidance Experience providing technical recommendations on secure voice solutions to engineering teams and management 26-00139
