Position Summary This role of Plant Manager/Maintenance Supervisor is a senior, hands-on leadership position responsible for building, launching, and operating a new plastics compounding facility. The Plant Manager/Maintenance Supervisor will be the first operational leader on site and will own both plant operations and maintenance in a lean, greenfield environment. This is a builder role focused on startup readiness, team formation, and long-term operational stability. Main Duties & Responsibilities • Lead the buildout, commissioning, and startup of a new plastics compounding facility • Own plant operations and maintenance strategy, including twin-screw extrusion uptime and reliability • Hire, train, and develop the operations, maintenance, and production team ahead of start of production • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards while preparing for scale-up • Partner closely with executive leadership and quality leadership to ensure on-time, stable production launch Key Skills • Strong hands-on leadership in lean manufacturing and startup environments • Deep technical expertise in plastics compounding and twin-screw extrusion • Proven ability to anticipate risks, prevent startup issues, and execute under pressure Education & Experience Requirements • Direct experience in plastic compounding (polymerization-only backgrounds not acceptable) • Hands-on experience with twin-screw extrusion systems • Experience launching or supporting a greenfield manufacturing facility • Engineering degree or equivalent technical background • Experience with engineered plastics such as PA, PBT, and PPA • Spanish language proficiency required • Ability to lead both plant operations and maintenance functions • Willingness to complete extended international training (projected Aug/Sept/Oct in Germany) Additional Requirements & Expectations • On-site role based in northwest Houston, Texas • Start date targeted for July 1, approximately five months ahead of first production run • Willingness to travel extensively during the first four months, including three months in Germany • Comfortable working extended hours during startup and peak production periods • Salaried role with flexibility and ownership expectations • Visa sponsorship not available • Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates
