Pay | $48 ~ $58/hr+ ($18.13/hr base pay + hourly tips average) Title | Banquet Captain Hours | Full time (30+ hours) and part time ( Status | Seasonal Location | Union, WA hourly tips/service charge average calculated on an annualized basis Summary The PM Banquet Captain oversees the pace and execution of all banquet functions, coordinating team members to ensure seamless event service. This position requires a strong understanding of all banquet roles and the ability to lead the team in delivering smooth, timely, and successful events from setup to breakdown. Train & Supervise Banquet Staff Lead and supervise banquet staff during events, ensuring service standards, safety, and professionalism. Assign staffing and provide on-the-floor coaching, feedback, and support. Guest & Event Management Act as the primary on-site contact for guests during banquet events. Address guest needs and resolve issues quickly and professionally. Coordinate with culinary and service teams to ensure smooth event flow. Event Execution & Setup Execute events according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), including setup, service, and breakdown. Oversee banquet spaces, equipment, and basic A/V setup to ensure readiness and cleanliness. Billing & Administrative Procedures Process event charges and payments in accordance with accounting procedures. Complete required shift reports and documentation Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, control costs, and enhance guest satisfaction. Communicate feedback and operational needs to banquet leadership. PM Captain Duties Oversee evening banquet operations, including bar areas and alcohol inventory. Collaboration & Engagement As a PM Banquet Captain, you will work under the direct guidance of the Banquet Manager. In addition to your home department, you will regularly work with the Culinary, IT, Sales & Catering, and UCM teams. You will oversee Banquet House Attendants, Banquet Servers, Banquet Bartenders, Lady Alderbrook Deckhand, and Overnight House Attendant staff and can expect a significant level of interaction with guests and the public. Foundational & Prerequisite Skills Basic English (speaking, reading, writing). . Intermediate written composition, comprehension, safety-consciousness. Learn As You Go Basic schedule management, event coordination, interviewing, project management, general computer use, photocopier/scanner/printer, phone and voicemail systems, 10-key, typing, A/V equipment setup, breakdown, and troubleshooting, TVs and DVD players, Microsoft Office 365 Word, Outlook (email, calendar), PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote, and Excel (tables, basic formulas, pivot tables, advanced lookup formulas), Point of Sale (POS) systems, Springer-Miller Systems (SMS), Salesforce, walkie-talkie, general troubleshooting, identification of food products (color, shape, texture, smell), understanding of basic cooking methodologies, knowledge of global cuisine, hand and power tool operation and handling, high standards of cleanliness, making café beverages, and knowledge of beer, wine, mixology and spirits.
