Job Description

Fabrication Material Handler The Fabrication Material Handler manages the efficient movement, storage, and tracking of inventory within the manufacturing facility. Key responsibilities include loading/unloading trucks, operating machinery like forklifts and pallet jacks, conducting inventory counts, and maintaining a clean, safe workspace to support supply chain operations. Duties and Responsibilities: Ordering and maintaining levels of stock materials Receiving material, verifying the accuracy of quantity and quality of incoming deliveries Loading and unloading trucks in a safe manner using a forklift or pallet jack Labeling every product and putting it away in proper locations Helping prepare shipments Keeping a well-maintained and updated account of stock and inventory Track inventory by performing cycle counts Collaborating with internal departments to locate missing or late material, fix incorrect deliveries and replace damaged products Stage material for operators in a timely manner to ensure that production stays on schedule Adhere to safety protocols and maintain clean work areas Operate and perform inspections on forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment Other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities Qualifications: Sheet and structural metal knowledge High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or 1-3 years material handling experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience Must be able to work with minimal supervision, be proactive and possess strong communication skills both written and verbal Must be able to work well in a team environment Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or shipping/receiving environment Able to safely operate a forklift Strong organization skills attention to detail and ability to follow verbal or written instructions Ability to read and analyze information Excellent time management Process improvement mindset Knowledge of inventory control Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems Physical Demands: Continually required to stand, walk, squat, bend, read, talk and hear Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity Required to climb ladder or step stool The employee is regularly required to lift up to 25 lbs. The employee is frequently required to lift up to 50 lbs.
