HSU Workstudy President's Office Department: President's Office Supervisor Title: Chief of Staff LSA Status: Non-Exempt Location: Abilene Target Hire Date: 1/20/2026 Contact Information: Carmen Vazquez at Summary/Scope: The Student Worker in the Office of the President will serve as an assistant to the staff in the President's Office, primarily the President and the Administrative Assistant to the President. The Student Worker will serve in an administrative capacity and will be given special projects and responsibilities within the Office of the President. Student Workers are expected to exhibit a high level of professionalism in the office. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure that all documents are filed correctly, both electronically and physically. Check mail on a daily basis, and process mail for the President. Draft letters, prepare documents, create spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations as directed by the President or Administrative Assistant to the President. Ensure that the phones are always answered, and direct calls appropriately. Ensure that phone messages are sent to the correct person when necessary. Assist the Administrative Assistant to the President with scheduling as needed. Greet people as they come into the office. Create a warm, inviting, professional environment. Maintain adequate drink and coffee supply in the kitchen area. Monitor the office supplies for adequate inventory. Prepare and track gifts for the President to give on a weekly or as needed basis. Maintain gift inventory. Assist in the preparations for the Board of Trustees meetings. Other duties as assigned. Education/Experience: Must be a currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student Work Environment: The President's Office is a fast-paced professional environment. Professional dress and behavior are expected at all times. All information in the office is considered highly confidential.
