Job Description: Our client is seeking a dedicated Small Animal Emergency Veterinarian to join their busy Emergency & Critical Care hospital serving the Visalia and greater Fresno region. This position is available on a full-time, part-time, or relief basis and is ideal for a veterinarian with strong emergency experience who is confident managing urgent and critical cases. Candidates with at least three years of small animal or emergency experience are preferred, and board-certified Emergency & Critical Care specialists are encouraged to apply. The hospital operates 365 days per year and is supported by a highly skilled team of RVTs, experienced veterinary assistants, and strong leadership, including a Hospital Manager who is a Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) in Emergency & Critical Care. The practice is organized, efficient, and focused on delivering high-quality emergency medicine in a collaborative environment. A leadership opportunity is also available for an experienced emergency clinician interested in partnering with the leadership team to help elevate and grow the emergency service. A Medical Director stipend is available for qualified candidates. In this position, your responsibilities will include: Conducting comprehensive emergency exams and medical work-ups Performing emergency surgical and diagnostic procedures (orthopedics not required) Managing hospitalized and critical care patients Maintaining accurate and compliant medical records Collaborating with technical staff and leadership to ensure high clinical standards Qualifications Needed: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree from an accredited institution Active California veterinary license in good standing DEA registration or ability to obtain and maintain Minimum of one year experience in emergency veterinary medicine (3+ years preferred) Strong emergency diagnostic and surgical skills Package: Quarterly production plan with no negative accrual Medical Director stipend (if applicable) Sign-on, retention, and relocation package up to $75,000 Flexible schedule of 10-12 shifts per 4 weeks Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with employer contribution Paid parental leave and paid time off Generous CE allowance and additional CE paid time off Reimbursement for membership dues and license fees Employee pet care discounts and wellbeing resources
