2nd Shift Diesel Service Technician

Job Summary: We are looking for a Service Technician to join our growing second shift team! The right candidate will have a strong service technician background and the ability to complete tasks in a quality efficient manner. The day-to-day duties include performing work on specific repair orders and diagnosing what repairs need to be done.  Benefits $1500.00 sign on bonusMedical and dental insurance401k PlanPTOLife insuranceShort-term disabilityGrowth opportunitiesEmployee discountsFamily-owned and operatedSecond shift wage premiumPotential to earn up to $5.00 per hour monthly bonus2nd shift hourly pay premium Responsibilities Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc. Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications Qualifications 2+ years of Service Technician experience preferred High school diploma or equivalent B level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment Excellent customer service skills and basic computer competencies Positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to improve Enjoy working in a dynamic environment Good teammate with ability to collaborate with others effectively Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications Valid driver's license and clean driving record Must be able to pass a routine background check and drug screening Class B CDL preferred or willingness to obtain Must provide own tools   About Us: Customers have trusted Sternberg Automotive Group for over 60 years!
