The EHS Coordinator demonstrates core skills, which includes understanding the company safety policies in adherence of the principal values VMVO (Vision, Mission, Values and Objectives). The EHS Coordinator is a key resource to the facility with a focus on employee safety. This person reports directly to the EHS Manager and has the primary responsibility of supporting all health and safety improvement efforts at the CertainTeed, Jonesburg - Missouri facility.This function utilizes the existing procedures and their acquired knowledge to provide EHS technical support to the Plant through coordination of EHS activities and programs. This role supports the implementation, execution, and maintenance of the environmental, health, and safety systems for the plant. As the EHS Coordinator, you will work collaboratively with Plant Management, Production, Maintenance, and Engineering team members and focus on various projects and initiatives within these teams.Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Complete daily EHS assignments that are assigned by the EHS Manager/Supervisor Monitor employees, contractors, and visitors to ensure compliance with all site safety policies Audit job safety analysis, risk assessments, and work permits on a routine basis and help to create these as needed Support safety meetings with the production teams Assist the EHS Manager/Supervisor to help with the activities of the Safety Committee- Participate as requested in the Production Meeting held with the Site Leadership Team and Site Supervision Help to identify and track TF events. Assist the EHS Manager/Supervisor in the mitigation plans for any action items that develop from the TF events Use internal tracking systems to report leading and lagging safety indicators Assist with data management of information captured in the internal tracking systems Work with operational leaders to enforce safety standards Be an active member of the Emergency Response Team and other teams as assigned that need safety support or oversight Help to capture, track, and, where needed, lead efforts to correct deficiencies through site audits and inspections Provide follow-up communications to employees who are involved or reported the EHS concern, prompting the corrective actions Support Ops team members to ensure all contractors/vendors have been registered in our online approval system (Safety Plus) and, when needed, are working under the required site work permits Conduct Safety New Hire Orientation- Conduct EHS training programs to meet regulatory and SG plant needs, track training progress Participate and, when needed, lead incident investigations, development of corrective actions, and communicate lessons learned in a timely, effective, and thorough manner. Participate and help to manage site EHS projects to include gathering information to support justification, working with internal and third-party resources, and obtaining quotes- Partner with plant leadership and operators, working to ensure that the plant is free from risks to the environment, health, and safety On occasion, be able to assist with environmental tasks as needed Minimum education: Bachelor's degree in EHS (preferred not required) Experience: 2-4 years' previous experience within the general industry health & safety field Must have a basic knowledge of OSHA standards and regulatory compliance requirements with completion of OSHA 30 Hour Course Must have a basic knowledge of Lean Thinking, 5-S and Six Sigma Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing Must have adequate skills in MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel Must have the ability to work on various tasks/projects at the same time Must lead by example, maintaining integrity of the Safety/EHS Management Systems Must be able to work 8 to 12 hours on their feet, lift 30 lbs. on a repeated basis and climb safety ladders when necessary to complete various tasks within the position. #LI-ME1 Through the responsible development of innovative and sustainable building products, CertainTeed, headquartered in Malvern, Pennsylvania, has helped shape the building products industry for more than 110 years.
