Full Charge Bookkeeper Opportunity We are looking for a knowledgeable and motivated Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our team in Austin, Texas. This position offers the opportunity to manage comprehensive accounting functions within a nonprofit organization while ensuring accuracy and compliance. As a contract to permanent role, this position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is eager to contribute to financial integrity and organizational success. Responsibilities: Handle daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger updates. Manage month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting. Prepare detailed financial statements and reports for organizational leadership and the Board. Track and manage grant funding, including restricted and unrestricted funds, while maintaining compliance with reporting requirements. Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals to facilitate audits and tax filings. Implement and maintain strong internal controls to uphold financial best practices. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts to support strategic planning. Process payroll independently or oversee payroll services through a third-party provider. Maintain well-organized and accurate financial records to ensure data reliability. Requirements: At least 3 years of experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper, preferably within a nonprofit organization. Proficiency in nonprofit accounting practices, including fund accounting and grant tracking. Hands-on experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, or similar systems. Ability to work independently with a high level of initiative and ownership. Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to meet strict deadlines. Strong communication skills and comfort collaborating with leadership and program teams. Familiarity with payroll processing and financial compliance requirements. Solid understanding of financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.
