BC Functional Consultant - Banking

Overview A Texas-based financial institution is seeking a Business Central Functional Consultant to support and optimize its Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central environment. This role will act as the functional bridge between finance, operations, compliance, and IT, ensuring the system supports regulatory requirements, reporting accuracy, and scalable growth. This is a hybrid role: remote flexibility with required in-person collaboration at Texas offices as needed. Key Responsibilities Serve as the functional lead for D365 Business Central across finance and operational banking workflows Optimize GL structure, dimensions, and reporting for regulatory and management reporting needs Improve AR/AP processes, reconciliations, and audit traceability Address inefficiencies in loan accounting integrations and downstream reporting platforms Partner with compliance teams to ensure data integrity and proper controls within BC Evaluate and improve bank feeds, payment processing, and reconciliation workflows Support month-end close acceleration and financial statement accuracy Lead requirements gathering, configuration, testing (UAT), and end-user training Work alongside internal IT and external partners on enhancements, integrations, and ISVs Qualifications 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV / D365 Business Central Strong functional expertise in GL, AP, AR, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting Experience in banking, credit unions, or financial services preferred Familiarity with compliance-driven environments (SOX, audit, regulatory reporting) Experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into BC configuration Ability to communicate effectively with finance leadership and technical teams Preferred Experience Multi-entity / multi-branch environments API or integration oversight experience Experience supporting audits within BC Finance background a plus
