Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Machine Builder who takes pride in craftsmanship, teamwork, and continuous improvement. This role blends hands-on machine building with mentorship, cross-functional collaboration, and moderate travel to support customer installations and project success. Roles & Responsibilities Independently manage time and workload while demonstrating a strong work ethic and commitment to quality Effectively prioritize competing demands with guidance from project and department leadership Promote and apply safety-conscious build practices across all projects Work collaboratively within a team environment to deliver high-quality products Maintain a positive, professional attitude toward customers and teammates Partner with cross-functional teams to complete projects on time and within budget Communicate clearly with team members, management, and customers regarding job progress, risks, and solutions Demonstrate and inspire initiative by analyzing problems and implementing effective, innovative solutions Support the development of less experienced Machine Builders through on-the-job training and mentoring Provide technical and workflow insights to the management team Build and fabricate components from blueprints, sketches, CAD, and CAM files Operate machining equipment including lathes, grinders, drill presses, and manual Bridgeport mills Perform fabrication and assembly using hand and power tools Read and interpret 2D and 3D engineering drawings and schematics Accurately use precision measurement tools and perform calculations Align, secure, and adjust cutting tools and workpieces Turn, mill, drill, shape, and grind machine parts to specification Perform additional duties as assigned to support project and business needs Travel Requirement: Approximately 25-45% travel for customer support, installations, and project needs Qualifications & Education High School Diploma or equivalent (required) 3+ years of experience building industrial or automated equipment Proven mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills Intermediate to expert proficiency in small to medium-sized machine builds Intermediate proficiency in large machine builds Intermediate to expert proficiency operating lathes, grinders, drill presses, and manual Bridgeport mills Intermediate to expert proficiency using hand and power tools Advanced ability to use precision measurement devices and perform accurate calculations Preferred: College or trade school certification in Machine Building, Machining, or a related field Basic working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, reach, and use hands frequently throughout the workday Regular lifting, pushing, and pulling of objects weighing 50 lbs or more Benefits & Perks We offer a competitive benefits package designed to support your health, security, and long-term success: Two health insurance plan options Dental insurance Vision insurance Life insurance Short-Term Disability (STD) coverage Opportunities for skill development, training, and career advancement Team-oriented, safety-first work environment
