You're excited to train and coach others. You have experience working in facilities maintenance. You enjoy having every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off, except for emergency response situations. You'll be responsible for: Ensuring that buildings and equipment are maintained in a safe, clean and orderly condition. Leading a group of highly efficient and self-motivated individuals. Maintaining maintenance inventory records and files, preparing work orders and reports, and monitoring and prioritizing maintenance schedules to ensure tasks are performed in a timely manner. Assisting in the training and mentoring of staff in various maintenance tasks and overall professional growth. Maintaining and tracking an established budget. Conducting site inspections and reading and interpreting specifications and blueprints. Having the knowledge and understanding of basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC. Using your excellent communication skills to maintain collaborative working relationships with other City departments and the general public. Education and/or Experience: Graduation from high school or equivalent, and three years of experience in public works maintenance work, which included activities similar to that of the assigned maintenance activity or any combination of training and experience that provides the desired knowledge and abilities. Knowledge of equipment operation, techniques and methods used in the area of specialization; lead supervision and training techniques. Ability to lead the work of others engaged in the area of specialization; understand and follow verbal and written directions; work safely and efficiently; operate equipment; read and interpret blueprints, work sketches and specialized maps; prepare work records and routine reports; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships. Special Requirements: Possession of or ability to obtain an appropriate California driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
