ACP is proud to offer a summer internship program which runs for approximately 8 weeks from Tuesday, June 16 - Thursday, August 6, 2026. These positions are required to work on a hybrid office schedule out of our Washington, DC headquarters and, as such, applicants must be local to the DC area or able to relocate to DC for the 8-week period. Internships are paid $20/hour on a semi-monthly pay schedule. Position Overview The Operations Intern contributes to ACP's operational efforts with a focus on research, analysis, and coordination related to clean energy education, workforce development, and continuing learning initiatives. This role supports projects that inform strategic decisions about education and training offerings across the clean energy industry. Working across multiple operational functions, including Finance, Human Resources, IT, Conferences and Events, and Business Development, the intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information, support project execution, and help advance initiatives that extend learning and engagement beyond ACP's core events. Conduct research and contribute to a landscape analysis of clean energy education and training offerings, including online and hybrid courses, workforce upskilling programs, leadership development, and employer-driven training models. Synthesize research findings into summaries and recommendations to help inform ACP and Clean Power Institute (CPI) decisions about potential education and training investments. Contribute to coordination of logistics for a post-event continuing education webinar series designed to support year-round learning opportunities. Help develop and organize a centralized resource library to house educational materials and learning assets. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project execution and information gathering. Contribute observations and insights related to operational processes and potential areas for improvement. Summer Project & Professional Development Over the course of the summer, the intern will contribute to a defined research or coordination project focused on clean energy education, workforce development, or continuing learning initiatives. The scope of this project will be refined during the first week of the internship based on team priorities and the intern's interests. Through this work and day-to-day contributions, the intern will have the opportunity to: Build an understanding of how education and workforce development initiatives support industry growth and engagement. Develop skills in research, synthesis, and analysis of program models and learning offerings. Gain experience working across multiple operational functions within a mission-driven organization. Strengthen project coordination, communication, and organizational skills. Learn how operational teams support strategy, execution, and continuous improvement. QualificationsRequired: Current undergraduate or graduate student, or recent graduate, with an interest in business administration, management, operations, education, or a related field. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and prioritization skills. Ability to analyze information and synthesize findings clearly. Ability to work collaboratively across teams with guidance. Preferred (but not required): Coursework or experience related to operations, project coordination, or workforce development. Comfort working with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Interest in clean energy, education, or workforce development initiatives. Job Conditions ACP operates in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with an ambitious agenda and a highly motivated staff. Interns will be supported by their manager and team as they learn and contribute to work with real deadlines and priorities. This role may involve working across multiple tasks and adapting to shifting timelines with guidance.
