As an RN, you are responsible for ensuring that patients are protected from infectious diseases by implementing and monitoring infection control protocols. This includes identifying patients at risk for infection, taking precautions to prevent the spread of infections, and educating patients, families, and staff about infection prevention practices. Infection control measures may include hand hygiene, personal protective equipment (PPE), isolation precautions, environmental cleaning and disinfection, and surveillance for infections.
