Electrical Estimator

Electrical Estimator Location: Nashville, TN Reports To: Director of Operations / President Compensation: Base Salary Position Summary We are seeking a detail-driven Electrical Estimator to prepare accurate, competitive, and profitable cost estimates for commercial and/or industrial electrical construction projects. This role is responsible for reviewing project plans and specifications, performing quantity takeoffs, developing material and labor budgets, managing vendor pricing, and delivering proposals that align with company margin and risk standards. Key Responsibilities Preconstruction & Estimating Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, and equipment Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing Prepare complete cost estimates and proposals Ensure estimates meet company gross margin targets Submit bids and track results Financial & Risk Analysis Identify scope exclusions and clarifications Conduct post-bid analysis and estimate comparisons Participate in project handoff meetings to operations Track historical cost data for continuous improvement Vendor & Client Coordination Build relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors Attend pre-bid meetings and job walks Communicate with general contractors and owners during bidding Qualifications 3+ years experience in electrical estimating (commercial/industrial preferred) Strong knowledge of NEC and electrical construction practices Proficiency in Microsoft Office Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specs Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong communication and negotiation skills Electrical field experience preferred but not required Performance Metrics Bid hit rate Average gross margin on awarded projects Estimate accuracy vs. actual job cost Backlog quality and profitability Turnaround time on bids Why Join Us: Growing company with strong backlog Opportunity to impact profitability directly Clear path to Preconstruction Manager or VP role Job Type: Full-time Salary: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Ancillary Benefits Dental insurance Employee assistance program Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Retirement plan Vision insurance
