Job Title: Medication Aide Reports To: Director of Nursing Department: Nursing Location: On-site, Dumfries, VA Employment Type: Full-time | Part-time | Hourly | Non-Exempt Job Summary Medication Aides provide accurate medication administration and quality care to clients and maintain a safe environment under the direction and supervision of a licensed registered nurse. Key ResponsibilitiesPrepping and administering client specific routine and PRN medications as directed. Verifying the right person, drug, dose, route, and time against the Medication Administration Record (MAR). Documenting interventions, vital signs, or other data related to medication administration. Maintaining confidentiality of clients. Reporting to the supervising nurse with any client issues or concerns. Assisting clients with activities of daily life (ADLs), as needed. Performing all other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Education / CredentialsHigh School Diploma or equivalent. Certified or registered with the Board of Virginia as a Medication Aide. ExperienceMinimum of 6 months of experience in a medication aide role. Mental health and residential substance use disorder program experience preferred Knowledge / SkillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Able to work independently and with a team Working ConditionsDirect care position Full-time, Part-time, 20-40 hours per week, weekdays and/or weekends vary based on shifts available - inquire to learn more, some holidays Full-time, 8:30am-5:00pm Monday-Friday Full-time, 7:00am-7:30pm, 3 12's with rotating weekdays and weekends Part-time, 7:00am-7:30pm Thursday, Friday Why This Role MattersPre-Employment Requirements Mainspring conducts, as required, job-related background checks, drug testing, TB testing, verification of employment history, and/or reference checks prior to employment.
