Part-Time Bookkeeper (Nonprofit) – Norwalk, CT Our nonprofit client in Norwalk, CT is seeking a Part-Time Bookkeeper to support day-to-day accounting operations. This is a great opportunity for an experienced bookkeeping professional who enjoys working in a mission-driven environment and values flexibility. Position Overview The Part-Time Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end processes, and assisting with general accounting functions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working independently in a nonprofit setting. Schedule Part-time | Approximately 20–25 hours per week Flexible schedule (onsite preferred) Key Responsibilities Maintain general ledger and ensure accurate financial recordkeeping Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions Perform bank and credit card reconciliations Assist with month-end close and financial reporting Track expenses and support budget monitoring Prepare journal entries and maintain supporting documentation Assist with audit preparation and grant tracking as needed Support payroll processing coordination (as applicable) Qualifications 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably within a nonprofit organization Understanding of nonprofit accounting principles and fund accounting preferred Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks or similar ERP systems) Strong Excel and data entry skills Highly organized with strong attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities independently Why This Role?
