CNC Setup ProgrammerAbout the RoleJoin a team where precision engineering meets cutting-edge manufacturing. As a CNC Setup Programmer, you'll be the technical force behind transforming complex designs into flawless machined components. You'll create, refine, and validate CNC programs while owning the setup process that brings advanced medical-device parts to life.This role is perfect for someone who thrives on solving machining challenges, enjoys hands-on work at the machine, and wants to influence how products are made from concept through production.What You'll Do Develop high-performance CNC programs using CAD/CAM software (Mastercam preferred) for multi-axis machining. Perform complete machine setups, including tooling, workholding, offsets, and program loading. Convert engineering models and drawings into accurate, efficient toolpaths. Run first-article prove-outs, perform test cuts, and refine programs for accuracy, repeatability, and speed. Analyze machining performance to optimize cycle times, tool life, and process stability. Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust parameters directly at the machine. Inspect finished components to ensure they meet tight engineering and quality requirements. Maintain machine readiness through routine checks, coolant management, and basic maintenance. Document setups, processes, and production data in alignment with ISO-regulated quality systems. Uphold safe machining practices and protect equipment through disciplined, standardized operation. Essential Technical Skills Strong CNC programming experience with advanced Mastercam proficiency. Hands-on expertise with multi-axis machining, toolpath creation, and machine setup. Deep understanding of feeds, speeds, tooling, workholding, and machining fundamentals. Experience performing program prove-outs and debugging directly on the shop floor. Ability to engineer solutions within a regulated manufacturing environment. Additional Qualifications Ability to create clear setup sheets, work instructions, and training materials. Strong communication skills for collaborating with engineering, production, and quality teams. Proven ability to drive process improvements through smarter programming and setup strategies. Excellent file management and documentation discipline. Willingness to mentor machinists and junior programmers as a technical resource.
