Town of Windsor - Summer Health Department Aide Intern The Town of Windsor Health Department is currently accepting applications for a current undergrad/graduate student actively pursuing their degree in the public health field to work 32 hours a week from May thru August in the Environmental Health division. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assists in the sorting, collating and compiling of materials; maintaining files and keeping simple records Organizes, scans, and archives files and records for the department (strong Microsoft Excel skills a plus) Works in the code enforcement division, inspecting problem properties, mosquito control larviciding, and program development, while under the direction of the Code Enforcement Inspector and Health Inspectors Participates in projects that are administered by the Health Director and Public Health Nurse throughout the summer Our Ideal Candidate will: Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills with both clients as well as other staff members Ability to understand and follow oral and/or written instructions; learn assigned tasks readily; and, adhere to office routines Focused on pursuing a career in the public health field Minimum Qualifications: Undergraduate or Graduate student actively pursuing their degree in the public health field Hours and Salary: The 32 hours for this position are during 8:00am to 5:00pm - Monday thru Friday The hourly rate for this position is $17.50 Successful candidates will be subject to the Town of Windsor background screening process, which includes a criminal background check for candidates 18 years of age and older, a motor vehicle check, and a pre-employment drug screen (includes screening for marijuana).
