Job Description

Overview We are looking for a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to join a highly disciplined, automation-focused manufacturing operation. This is a role for a technician who values craftsmanship and precision over "putting out fires." You will be joining a clean, structured facility that utilizes advanced robotics and automated systems to supply high-quality components to the automotive industry. This is not a typical "fix-it-when-it-breaks" environment. We are looking for a process owner who wants to build for the long term. You will play a critical role in optimizing equipment uptime, integrating new technologies, and refining processes to ensure our plant operates at peak efficiency. If you are a patient, detail-oriented problem solver who thrives in a collaborative environment and wants to grow with a company that has significant room for expansion, we want to hear from you. Shift & Schedule Monday - Friday 2nd Shift: 3pm - 11pm Compensation $25 - $30 /hr Benefits Medical, Dental, and Vision + Flex Spendings Accoutn 401(k) with company match PTO + Paid Shutdowns Responsibilities Electrical Systems & Controls – prioritize electrical troubleshooting on automated production lines, including diagnosing faults in PLCs, VFDs, servos, and sensor arrays. You will work extensively with 480V circuits and low-voltage controls to ensure seamless automation performance. Preventative & Predictive Maintenance – Execute and refine a rigorous PM schedule designed to catch issues before they result in downtime. You will be expected to move beyond simple checks to identify long-term wear patterns and root causes. Robotics & Automation Support – Maintain and troubleshoot material handling robotics and pick-and-place systems, ensuring precise calibration and reliable operation of complex integrated cells. Mechanical & Fluid Power Maintenance – Perform precision repairs on mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and drive components. You will ensure conveyors, actuators, and robot end-effectors are mechanically sound, aligned, and calibrated to OEM specifications. Continuous Improvement & OEE – Drive initiatives to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) by analyzing downtime data, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing logic or mechanical changes that improve cycle times and reduce waste. Cost Reduction & Process Efficiency – Actively look for ways to reduce maintenance overhead and spare parts consumption without sacrificing quality, ensuring the department runs lean and effective. Equipment Commissioning & Integration – Collaborate with the team to install, commission, and test new production equipment, ensuring it meets safety standards and operational requirements from Day 1. Root Cause Analysis – utilize a structured approach to problem-solving. We are not looking for quick patches; we are looking for permanent solutions that prevent recurrence. Requirements Qualifications Required Strong Electrical Aptitude: Must possess deep knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including the ability to read and interpret complex schematics, wiring diagrams, and control logic. PLC Experience: Proven experience troubleshooting and interacting with Programmable Logic Controllers (experience with Mitsubishi, Omron, or similar platforms is vital). Problem-Solving Mindset: A proactive thinker who uses data and logic to solve problems, rather than guessing. Must be capable of identifying the "why" behind a failure. Communication & Patience: Excellent interpersonal skills are non-negotiable. You must be patient, respectful, and able to communicate technical concepts clearly to team members across different departments and backgrounds. Adaptability: The ability to "wear multiple hats," assist with cross-functional tasks, and remain calm and productive in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Experience: 5+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in a production environment. Preferred Automotive Industry Experience: Previous work in a Tier 1 automotive supplier or similar high-volume, high-quality environment. Robotics Exposure: Familiarity with material handling robots and automated work cells. Education: Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or Industrial Maintenance.
