Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST in the Office of the Chief of Information (CHINFO) of CHINFO WASHINGTON DC. Responsibilities You will serve as the Assistant Chief of Information (ACI) for Community Outreach who reports to the Chief of Information who is a direct report to the Secretary of the Navy (SECNAV) and the Chief of Naval Operations (CNO). You will be responsible for overseeing all Navy Community Outreach and Directorate activities. You will manage external public affairs programs. You will ensure that the department’s policy is carried out effectively. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, updating, planning, and executing the Navy’s Annual Community Outreach Plan. You will serve as the senior advisor to CHINFO and all other Navy commands when filmmakers who are requesting production and research assistance approach these organizations. You will inform DoD of entertainment media projects that involve both the Navy and other federal agencies. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience in and knowledge of public affairs policies and regulations as they pertain to the community relations and outreach. Experience in and skills in communication principles, methods, practices and techniques; analytical methods and interpersonal relations practices. Experience in and knowledge for recommending strategies and establishing standards for development, evaluation, and assessment of all of the Community Outreach Programs.
