Executive Searches Consultant

The Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB) is seeking applicants for a part-time consultant in the Executive Searches Department. This position reports to the Associate Executive Director of Executive Searches and will be headquartered in either IASB's Springfield or Lombard office. The IASB Executive Searches Department assists school boards and districts in hiring superintendents, assistant superintendents, business managers, and principals. Position Summary: The Executive Searches Consultant position provides executive search consulting services to school districts across Illinois. Elected school board members are responsible for hiring and evaluating a school's chief executive. The role of the Executive Search Consultant is to assist the client board and/or superintendent in establishing a candidate profile and manage the process from candidate sourcing through the interview, selection, and ultimate hire. The consultant may also refer the client district to other IASB services to meet a district's needs. Education and/or Experience Requirements: The Executive Searches Consultant position requires a bachelor's degree; with a master's degree a plus. At least five years of work experience as a school superintendent. Prior experience as a school board member, and/or or public school administrator is desirable. The employee must have a valid Illinois drivers' license and a vehicle; mileage and reasonable travel reimbursement will be provided. This position requires the employee to be able to be able to lift, move, and safely handle boxes and materials up to 25 pounds.
