Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is seeking a dedicated Case Manager to join our 24/7 Detox Center, providing compassionate support to individuals experiencing acute intoxication or withdrawal from drugs and/or alcohol (ASAM 3.2 level of care). In this fast-paced, 30-bed facility, you will lead efforts related to emergency and involuntary commitments, coordinate treatment planning, and refer clients to critical support services that supplement recovery. You'll provide safety, stability, and structure while closely monitoring client conditions, behaviors, and treatment progress. This role requires strong clinical judgment, crisis response, ethical documentation, and the ability to perform routine assessments such as vital sign checks and UA/BA testing. The ideal candidate brings strong substance use counseling skills, thrives in a dynamic team environment, and is committed to helping individuals stabilize and begin their path to recovery. Schedule. This position is fully Onsite/In-person. Available schedule is: Wednesday - Saturday, 7:00 am - 5:00 pm Salary for this role. The starting wage is based on experience and company equity. Paid bi-weekly. $21.03 - $31.56 per hour without a Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS) $26.68 - $40.00 per hour with a CAS Shift Differential Pay. The Day weekend shift differential is paid from 7 am to 3 pm on Saturdays and Sundays only; the Swing shift differential is paid from 3 pm to 11 pm; and the Overnight shift differential is paid from 11 pm to 7 am Day Weekend (Sat, Sun): $1.50/hour Swing Weekday (Mon-Thurs): $1.50/hour Swing Weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun): $2.75/hour Bilingual Language Differential Pay. Employees who successfully pass a language assessment are eligible to receive bilingual differential pay. This differential is provided as a fixed amount of $3,000 per calendar year, paid on a bi-weekly basis across 26 pay periods, and prorated based on hire date and full-time equivalency (FTE). Eligibility and payment are subject to the language requirements of the position and the employee's demonstrated proficiency in the language. Essential Duties: Withdrawal Management Specific Responsibilities: Manage all Emergency and Involuntary Commitments for Arapahoe and Douglas counties Work together with the Office of Behavioral Health (OBH) and Signal Behavioral Health Network (Signal) on all aspects of the Emergency (EC) and Involuntary Commitment (IC) process, from writing and approving ECs, petitioning OBH for ICs, coordinating Physician Certifications, coordinating legal counsel, transportation to and from court, appointments, and treatment Ongoing training of community partners on how to write ECs and the steps involved to pursue ICs Perform Comprehensive Assessments on clients that include Biopsychosocial (BPS) assessments and the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) tool Conduct clinical reviews of EC and IC clients with OBH and Signal Responds quickly to emergencies and short timelines for client treatment placement and legal activity Run counseling groups with residents Conduct 1:1 clinical and case management interventions Train other clinical staff on running clinical groups and performing 1:1 interventions Complete Comprehensive Case Management Needs Assessments for clients expressing a need for case management Withdrawal Management Case Managers must be COHMIS trained and enter homeless patients into the HMIS system Must complete monthly reporting for Signal All EC and IC activity for the month Document how we serve those experiencing homelessness and all referrals given Track and submit ancillary services report for cost reimbursement related to Detox expenses for IC clients for Physician Certifications, Medication Management, transportation, etc.) Provide care conferences to friends, family members, and other types of client supports Coordinate Medication Assisted Therapy (MAT) referrals, consultations, and treatment for SUD clients Train and support the team of Withdrawal Management Peer Recovery Coaches Maintain an up-to-date program Resource Manual for SUD and co-occurring services Liaison with 22 contracted hospitals, 12 law enforcement agencies, and various SUD treatment programs throughout the Denver metro area General Responsibilities: Some or all of the following essential functions will be relevant to the Case Manager role, depending on the specific clinical team where work is performed: Serve as payee for clients who require assistance to manage their finances. Help clients in meeting basic needs for food, clothing, shelter, personal safety, and general health care, and assist them with applications for income, medical, housing, or other benefits which they may need and to which they are entitled. Ensure clients' access to needed services and community resources by arranging for transportation. Provide comprehensive psychosocial services designed to improve or maintain clients' abilities to function effectively. Help clients evaluate strengths and symptoms and facilitate clients in setting their own goals and plan for appropriate services. Guide and instruct clients in daily living skills such as medication use, diet, exercise, personal hygiene, shopping, cooking, budgeting, housekeeping, use of transportation, and other community services. Help clients develop social skills, interests, and leisure time activities, including opportunities for age-appropriate activities. Help clients find and make use of appropriate employment opportunities, vocational rehabilitation services or supported work environments where appropriate. Offer support, assistance, consultation and education to families, friends, landlords, employers, community agencies and others who come into contact with clients, in order to maximize benefits and minimize problems associated with the presence of these persons in the community. Identify, work with, and make full utilization of potential natural support systems such as neighborhood networks, churches, and community organizations to encourage treatment program engagement. Reach out to eligible clients, inform them of and educate them about available services and in the community. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or other related human services degree. Or a Bachelor's Degree in an unrelated field with at least one year of behavioral health experience. A Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS) registered with DORA is required within 18 months of hire Must possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and QMAP or obtain them within 30 days of hire. Demonstrated interest in the behavioral health field Ability to assess crisis situations and intervene appropriately. Knowledge of community resources. Basic understanding and ability to work with differing behavioral health presentations. Knowledge of community resources. Effective organizational skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Preferred: Bilingual Required Vaccination and TB Test.
