Job Title: Buyer I LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Buyer I to join our client's team that is responsible for providing tactical purchasing support to assigned value streams, ensuring timely procurement of materials and services to maintain smooth operations. This role focuses on purchase order (PO) management, vendor communication, and inventory support while upholding compliance with company standards and ethical practices. The Buyer I serves as the first line of defense against price increases and plays a key role in maintaining cost efficiency and supply chain integrity. Location: Fairport, NY 14450 - 100% On Site Working Conditions: Office and factory environment. / Safety glasses are required on the factory floor. Department: Supply Chain / Procurement Compensation: $33.00 - $36.00 per hour Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits, and 401(k) plan. Paid leave may include sick leave, holiday pay, and other leave as required by law. Key Responsibilities Review requisitions and process purchase orders accurately and promptly. Maintain purchase order hygiene, including acknowledgment, promised delivery dates, and pricing accuracy. Act as the primary point of contact for vendors regarding order confirmations and updates. Monitor and update order promise dates to ensure timely delivery. Resolve pricing discrepancies and prevent unauthorized price increases. Support production cells by ensuring material availability and addressing urgent needs. Maintain inventory levels to meet production requirements without excess stock. Address and resolve invoicing and shipping issues in a timely manner. Ensure compliance with all purchasing policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards. Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities aligned with quality and service requirements. Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency. Qualifications Education: Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field. Experience: Minimum two years of buying experience in manufacturing; not open to entry-level candidates. Positive, energetic, and proactive personality; able to break down barriers and seek creative solutions with suppliers. Demonstrated Excel proficiency beyond basic functions. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Basic analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Commitment to confidentiality and ethical practices.
