What You'll Do Our HVAC Start-Up & Installation Mechanics for our Construction department are an essential part of system installations on our commercial and residential projects. You'll perform layout and installation of required materials and equipment for HVACR systems, including VRF systems and pipefitting. This position also involves mentoring apprentices and junior mechanics to help them succeed in the HVAC trade. Responsibilities include: • Perform full HVAC system installations and start-ups, including VRF systems • Layout and install piping and ductwork according to specifications • Verify proper operation of equipment and controls • Troubleshoot and resolve installation or start-up issues • Ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards • Complete accurate start-up documentation and submit reports • Collaborate with project managers and foremen to meet deadlines • Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices and junior team members • Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work environment • Participate in training sessions and vendor-specific equipment education RequirementsWhat You Bring Education/Certification: High school diploma or GED; HVAC trade school preferred; Universal CFC certification required Skills and Abilities: • 4+ years of HVAC installation and start-up experience • Extensive knowledge of VRF systems and pipefitting • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems and controls • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills • Strong communication and teamwork abilities • Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems • Valid driver's license and clean driving record Physical & Work Conditions • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights • Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, and crouch for extended periods • Work in hot and cold weather conditions • Operate in open work areas with moderate noise • Travel to job sites as needed
