We are currently looking for a Dental Hygienist who promotes dental health by completing dental prophylaxis; providing oral cancer screening and radiographic studies; charting conditions of decay and disease; performing procedures in compliance with the dental practice act.Essential Functions of the Job: Prepares patient for dental hygiene treatment by welcoming, soothing, seating, and draping patientMaintains instrumentation for dental hygiene treatment by sharpening, sterilizing, and selecting instrumentsProperly captures digital radiographs that are diagnostic (root apices /no overlapping). Radiographs properly labeledCompletes dental prophylaxis by cleaning deposits and stains from teeth and from beneath gum marginsDetects disease by completing oral cancer screening; feeling and visually examining gums; using probes to locate periodontal disease and to assess levels of recession; exposing and developing radiographic studiesMaintains dental supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of suppliesDocuments dental hygiene services by recording vital signs, medical, and dental histories charting in patient records Qualifications and Education Requirements Education: Associate degree in Dental HygieneExperience:2-years preferred but open to new graduatesExpertise: must be qualified in Basic Life Support techniques/CPRLanguage: Comprehend and use basic language either written or spoken to communicate information and ideals Working for a non-profit also comes with perks like loan repayment options so ask us about those when you apply!
