Trains, Trains, Trains! Event Volunteer

Join the Southern Museum for our BIGGEST event of the year! Trains, Trains, Trains! is a two-day event on January 24 & January 25, 2026 from 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. We will have over 15 model train clubs bring their layouts of all shapes and sizes to delight visitors, young and old. To help run the event smoothly, we will need a large number of volunteers who can help around the Museum! We need help greeting and checking-in visitors, assisting in the gift shop, train layout and education area monitors, help with kids’ craft areas and more. Please contact us if you want help! The event will all day on January 24th and 25th. Not available all day? Not a problem as there will be a morning and afternoon shifts, in addition to an all-day shift. If you volunteer all day we will provide lunch. Please state what shift you would like when signing up for the event. Shifts available: Saturday January 24, 2025 - 08:00 am to 12:30 pm EST Saturday January 24, 2025 - 12:30 pm to 5:00 pm EST Sunday January 25, 2025 - 08:30 am to 12:30 pm EST Sunday January 25, 2025 - 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm EST All volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
