Maintenance Technician

Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to support the setup, operation, and maintenance of both Vertical (VFFS - Bartelt) and Horizontal (HFFS - Solpac/Stickpack) Form Fill and Seal machines. This role plays a critical part in ensuring our packaging operations run efficiently, safely, and in compliance with quality standards. Ideal candidates will have strong mechanical aptitude, a detail-oriented mindset, and a commitment to maintaining high productivity with minimal downtime. Key ResponsibilitiesMachine Setup & Operation Set up and operate both VFFS and HFFS machines for product packaging. Adjust machine parameters such as temperature, sealing, speed, and alignment per product specifications. Load raw materials and ensure proper material flow throughout production Quality Assurance Conduct regular inspections of finished products to ensure seal integrity, weight accuracy, and proper packaging appearance. Identify and correct issues such as faulty seals or misaligned product fills. Document and report quality control results during production. Maintenance & Troubleshooting Perform routine maintenance including cleaning, lubrication, and part replacement. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues with minimal downtime. Collaborate with the maintenance team on complex repairs. Safety & Compliance Follow all safety protocols, including GMP standards and machine safety procedures. Keep the work area clean and organized, report any hazards promptly. Participate in safety training and continuous improvement programs. Reporting & Communication Maintain accurate logs of machine performance, downtime, repairs, and production output. Communicate with supervisors and teammates to coordinate production goals and resolve issues. Participate in team meetings and provide input on operational improvements. Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (technical training or certifications preferred). Prior experience with VFFS or HFFS packaging machines highly desirable. Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills. Ability to read machine manuals and interpret technical instructions. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to product quality. Good communication skills and team collaboration mindset. Ability to lift materials and stand for long periods in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with manufacturing safety practices. Working Conditions Production floor environment with potential noise and machinery exposure. Requires standing, bending, lifting, and physical effort.
