A leading health system based in the heart of New York City is now seeking an experienced Nurse Manager, Ambulatory Surgery Clinic to join their award-winning medical team! This faith-based, nonprofit, approximately 250-bed community teaching hospital delivers comprehensive, patient-centered care, including 24/7 emergency services, maternity and newborn care, behavioral health, cardiology and cardiac testing, general and minimally invasive surgery, orthopedics, primary and specialty clinics, advanced imaging and diagnostics, rehabilitation, and preventive health programs. The Nurse Manager, Ambulatory Surgery Clinic leads day-to-day operations for a high-volume multispecialty practice, ensuring safe, efficient, and patient-centered outpatient surgical care across pre-op, intra-op, and post-anesthesia phases. This role oversees clinical staffing and scheduling, team coaching and competency development, patient flow and throughput, OR turnover and block utilization, and coordination with surgeons, anesthesia, and support services to optimize access and quality. Daily responsibilities include rounding and safety huddles, monitoring KPIs (on-time starts, cancellations, infection rates, patient satisfaction), enforcing evidence-based protocols, managing supplies and vendor relationships, maintaining accurate EMR documentation and charge capture, and driving compliance with AAAHC/Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA, and infection prevention standards. The manager partners on case review and performance improvement, resolves escalations, supports patient education and informed consent, leads incident reporting and root-cause analysis, and manages budgeting, inventory, and policy updates to advance clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and an exceptional patient experience within the ASC setting.
