Job Title: Sr Data Engineer Location-Type: Hybrid (3x/week onsite, Charlotte, NC) - East Coast time zone Start Date Is: 3/9 Duration: 6-month Contract-to-Hire (C2H) Compensation Range: $88-$100/hr (W2)Job Description: Senior Data Engineer to build and scale a modern cloud data platform-hands-on development in Python/SQL with Snowflake dbt, partnering closely with architects and distributed teams. Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Build, optimize, and support ELT/ETL pipelines using Python, SQL, Snowflake, and dbt Participate in sprint planning, daily standups, and technical design discussions Collaborate with data architects; challenge designs and drive pragmatic implementation decisions Conduct code reviews and contribute to engineering standards and best practices Work cross-functionally with teams across the East Coast and offshore (India) on daily calls Support reliability practices (monitoring, data quality checks, lineage, and operational readiness) Contribute to CI/CD practices for data pipelines and deployments Requirements: Must-Haves: 5-7 years of overall Data Engineering experience (senior-level, hands-on) Strong Python and advanced SQL fundamentals Snowflake implementation experience (most critical) including performance tuning/optimization dbt (Data Build Tool) experience in production environments Experience working in a cloud environment (Azure, AWS, or GCP) Comfortable working in agile teams and collaborating across time zones Nice-to-Haves: Azure experience (especially Azure Data Factory / Synapse) DataOps/observability tooling exposure (monitoring, freshness/volume checks, lineage) Financial services / large-scale regulated data experience CI/CD experience (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions) Snowpark or AI/ML enablement exposure This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
