Job Title: Finish Carpenter Job DescriptionJoin our custom woodworking team specializing in crafting beautiful commercial interiors across various industries including hospitality, athletics, corporate, education, entertainment, food service, government, and healthcare. With over two years of carpentry, finish carpentry, or woodworking experience, you will be instrumental in creating high-quality wood products using advanced tools and equipment.Responsibilities Combine, incorporate, and work with different wood and materials to meet daily project and product standards. Use advanced tools and equipment to produce wood products, attaching parts and subassemblies using glue, dowels, nails, screws, and/or clamps. Cut wood to the right size and shape, ensuring a snug fit using hand tools such as planes, chisels, or wood files. Shape and assemble parts based on blueprints, drawings, and written instructions. Set up and operate machines including power saws, jointers, mortisers, tenoners, molders, and shapers. Trim, sand, and scrape surfaces and joints to prepare articles for finishing. Verify dimensions and check the quality and fit of pieces. Program computers to operate machinery. Essential Skills 2+ years of carpentry, finish carpentry, or woodworking experience. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and carpentry equipment. Ability to read construction documents and shop drawings. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in millwork installation. Reliable transportation and consistent attendance. Report to the warehouse daily, located in Ankeny, where you'll find a clean and organized environment with music playing overhead. Although it can get dusty at times, there's a break room with vending machines and tables for relaxation.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, IA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $32.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
