Job Description: The Role Are you a current undergraduate or graduate student looking for a 6 month co-op opportunity to work across diverse data sources (e.g., customer attributes, transactional history, digital activity, phone call recordings, research surveys, etc.) to uncover key patterns to drive strategic decisions? Join a Data Science team within the AI Center of Excellence focused on using AI to improve customer financial wellbeing. We combine advanced machine learning with deep financial planning expertise to build highimpact systems for personalized engagement, opportunity detection, and taxefficient financial optimization. What You'll Do Build, refine, and evaluate ML models for recommendations and financial insights. Support development of agentic AI systems that identify customer financial opportunities. Run experiments, conduct model diagnostics, and analyze performance. Collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, and financial planning specialists. What We're Looking For Required Pursuing a degree in CS, Data Science, Statistics, Applied Math, Finance/FinTech, or similar Strong Python skills (pandas, NumPy, scikitlearn) Solid understanding of core ML concepts Curiosity about financial planning and wealth management Preferred Experience with classical AI/ML and LLM prompt engineering Exposure to agentic AI or reasoning frameworks SQL and largedataset experience Strong communication and problemsolving skills What You'll Gain Handson work with real AI systems used across Wealth & Brokerage Experience blending ML with financial planning logic Mentorship from AI experts and financial domain specialists A portfolio of impactful, productionoriented AI projects The base salary range for this position is $39 - $70 per hour. Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate's relevant experience, and other factors. Most roles at Fidelity are Hybrid, requiring associates to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office. This does not apply to Remote or fully Onsite roles.
