Unit Notes Cerner experience required Will Float Between Med/Tele 5B, Tele 7B, and ED Holds(Tele) - Unit: MedSurg 5 (Surgical Tele) - # beds: 47 - Certs: BLS, ACLS - Ratios: Tele pts - 1:4, MedSurg - 1:5 - EMR: Cerner - Charge Nurse: Yes - no patient assignment. Potentially 1 Resource RN if not in patient count. - Nurse Aides: Yes - ratio 1:12 days, 1:14 nights. - Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend - Holidays: Yes - rotate with core staff. - Scrub Color: RN - Navy Blue, Aides - Hunter Green - Tele: Yes - Nurse's Read Strips: Yes - Drips: Heparin, Blood - Vents: No - potentially bipap and cpap at night. - Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Yes - IV Team: No - RT 24/7: Yes - Pharmacy 24/7: Yes - Shifts: 0630-1900, 1830-0700 - Floating: MedSurg 6, Tele 7 (within skill set), and Rehab. - Floor specific orientation: 1 shift with a preceptor. - Common diagnosis / Types of patients: All post op surgical not requiring a higher level of care; bariatrics, ortho, spine. General tele patients. - Unit: Telemetry (Stepdown level of care) - # beds: 47 - Certs: BLS, ACLS - Ratios: 1:4 - EMR: Cerner - Charge Nurse: Yes - no patient assignment. Also - 1 Resource RN and 1 Transport RN. Transport RN is days only. - Nurse Aides: Yes - ratio 1:12 days, 1:14 nights. - Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend - Holidays: Yes - rotate with core staff. - Scrub Color: RN - Navy Blue, Aides - Hunter Green - Tele: Yes - RNs read and interpret own strips. - Vents: Yes - IV drips: Amio, Heparin - Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Yes - IV Team: No - RT 24/7: Yes - Pharmacy 24/7: Yes - Shifts: 12 hr shifts, 0630-1900, 1830-0700 - Floating: MedSurg 5, MedSurg 6, and Rehab. - Floor specific orientation: 1 shift with a preceptor. - Common diagnosis / Types of patients: CHF, Chest pain, Arrhythmias, Sepsis, Open Heart - Additional Notes: Strong focus on the patient experience. Shift report is done in the room with the patient. Must be on time and dependable
