Accounting and Reconciliation Specialist Qualifications: Minimum of Associate's degree in Accounting required. Bachelor's Degree preferred Experience with cash reconciliation required 3-5 years of experience working in a similar position preferred Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable Reports To: Director of Financial Reporting Supervises: NA Job Goal(s): Performs the full range of professional duties required to support the business department, including the performance of complex and/or sensitive activities; may manage large-scale, long-term projects; and performs related duties as required or assigned. Position Responsibilities: May represent the business department in meetings, planning sessions, or formal presentations Provides expertise within specific functions and responsibilities of the department Serves as a resource for school-based administration and staff Job Specific Responsibilities Perform monthly reconciliation of district bank accounts, including operating, payroll, grants, nutrition services, and student activity funds Reconcile general ledger accounts to subsidiary ledgers and supporting documentation Investigate and resolve discrepancies, outstanding checks, voids, and unidentified deposits in a timely manner Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation Communicate discrepancies and corrective actions clearly to administrators and staff Maintain accurate fund accounting records in compliance with governmental accounting standards (GASB) Generate reports from financial systems to support reconciliation and reporting
