Description Assess clients from pediatric through geriatric stages using both standardized evaluations and observational methods. Create individualized treatment approaches to meet both immediate and ongoing communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs. Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions concentrating on communication elements such as language, fluency, voice, and swallowing. Collaborate with a spectrum of healthcare professionals, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and families, to create integrated care plans. Provide education for patients and their families to support therapeutic progress beyond the clinic. Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapy sessions to maintain continuity in care throughout the healing journey. Ensure accurate and prompt documentation that conforms to state, federal, and organizational standards. Remain engaged with the latest advancements in the field through continued education and peer engagement. Education Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Successful completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified. Certifications Valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire. Skills Expertise in research-backed treatment modalities for all ages, with a solid grasp of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Exceptional interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, their families, and interdisciplinary teams. Adept at adapting therapy to meet a diverse range of cultural and linguistic requirements. Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
