Job Responsibilities Conduct thorough evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics through standardized tests and insightful observations. Create tailored treatment plans that concentrate on achieving both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives. Engage in direct speech therapy sessions aimed at enhancing clients' communication, articulation, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing skills. Collaborate closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to develop integrated care plans. Provide insightful education to patients and families to promote progress and understanding beyond therapy sessions. Occasionally participate in inpatient speech evaluations and therapy sessions to ensure comprehensive continuity of care. Uphold meticulous documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational standards. Remain informed about advances in the field through ongoing education and collaboration with peers. Qualifications A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you have not yet acquired ASHA certification. Certifications Required State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preference for the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within the first 30 days of employment. Essential Skills Expertise in evidence-based practices applicable to all ages, including a comprehensive understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing issues. Exceptional interpersonal communication skills while engaging with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Ability to customize therapy approaches to suit various cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Strong clinical judgment coupled with problem-solving capabilities.
