The Staff Systems Engineer will oversee system architecture across multiple complex projects, working with project systems engineers to ensure that a methodical approach is utilized to translate needs into a sustainable system architecture, define interfaces and architectural budgets, and drive cross-domain technical alignment. This role will work closely with the teams implementing the architecture into a technical solution, making sure that architectural trade-offs and issues are properly analyzed and resolved. Leads cross-domain trade studies and documents architecture decisions. Chairs an architecture review forum to drive timely alignment, closure, and decision rationale capture. Defines and governs system and subsystem interfaces; identifies architectural gaps and drives resolution among a diverse group of project stakeholders. Provides system-level technical integration intent (how subsystems fit together and what must be true at interfaces) and ensures cross-domain implementation choices remain consistent with the intended architecture. Works cross-functionally and collaboratively with project systems engineers to translate customer and business needs into clear system requirements and guides allocation to subsystem requirements. Reviews, helps develop, and approves architectural content expressed in MBSE models and associated architecture documentation, ensuring consistency across views and decision records.
