Ridgefield, CT Contract Duration: 24-36 months Rate: Negotiable Responsibilities: Excellent employment opportunity for a Automation Project Manager in the Ridgefield, CT area. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Automation Project Manager to join our Biotherapeutics research team. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing a new automation vision, working closely with instrument vendors, and ensuring the seamless integration of biotherapeutics lab instruments such as liquid handlers, Tecan, Hamilton, and others. This role requires a deep understanding of biotherapeutics research and hands-on experience with lab instruments, as well as proficiency in project management tools such as JIRA and Lucid. Manage the end-to-end project lifecycle, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing, ensuring lab projects are delivered on time and within budget. Manage instrument repairs, startups, shutdown, and equipment maintenance for lab moves in between buildings, etc. Utilize project management tools like JIRA and Lucid to track project progress, manage tasks, and communicate effectively with stakeholders. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including research scientists, IT, and engineering, to ensure successful implementation and adoption of automation solutions. Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of automation systems, making necessary adjustments to optimize efficiency and effectiveness. Experience: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in managing automation projects within a biotherapeutics research environment. Strong knowledge of biotherapeutics lab instruments, including liquid handlers, Tecan, and Hamilton. Proficiency in project management tools such as JIRA and Lucid. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications: PMP or other relevant project management certification. Experience working with external vendors and managing vendor relationships. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality standards in biotherapeutics research.
