JOB TITLE: Pediatrician LOCATION: New Orleans, Louisiana JOB TYPE: Full-time SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform comprehensive physical examinations on infants, children, and adolescents. Formulate differential diagnostic plans, order and interpret required diagnostic testing, and implement effective treatment plans. Administer immunizations and conduct preventive screenings in accordance with CDC guidelines and quality measures. Educate patients and families on health maintenance, developmental milestones, safety, and family planning. Elicit and accurately record patient medical history. Order or execute various tests, analyses, and diagnostic imaging to inform patient condition. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records via Electronic Medical Records (EMR), including observations during examinations. Analyze test results and examination findings to diagnose patient conditions. Determine the need for specialist consultations and assist in coordinating medical care and treatment as directed by other specialists. Provide timely responses to patient telephone consultations with the assistance of clinic staff. Perform simple procedures commensurate with clinical competence. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and stay current with advancements in pediatric medicine. Prepare records and reports as required, in support of services rendered and in accordance with established procedures. Attend and participate in patient care reports, conferences, and other appropriate professional activities as determined by the Medical Director, relative to assigned cases and performance of services. Comply with all applicable laws within the scope of Pediatric Practice, including HIPAA. Provide on-call coverage for pediatric patients as scheduled. QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS: Successful completion of an accredited Pediatric Residency Program. Three (3) or more years of experience post-residency preferred. Current board certification or board eligibility by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). Full, unrestricted Louisiana Medical License. Federal DEA registration with a clean background/no malpractice history. Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification. Active Medicaid Provider Number. DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES: Demonstrated capability in adequately diagnosing and treating a wide range of pediatric acute and chronic diseases and injuries. Knowledge and appreciation of cultural differences, with the ability to provide culturally appropriate care. Proficient knowledge of emergency protocols and standards of care.
