Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic Location: 1405 Shady Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15217 Schedule: Monday - Friday, Full Time. 11:30am to 8pm The Maintenance Mechanic performs a variety of maintenance, engineering and security duties for the facility and satellites Plant Operations Department. The Maintenance Mechanic would be assigned to work for the Director of Plant Operations and Maintenance on a regular basis. The Maintenance Mechanic is guided by basic knowledge of building trades, carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and mechanical repairs, computerized maintenance management systems, energy and fire management systems, plant maintenance methods, techniques and procedures, operation and use of department equipment and supplies Responsibilities Performs a variety of duties in maintaining, repairing, and renovating plant and facilities. Constructs, finishes, installs, maintains, and repairs equipment and building systems, mechanical systems and facilities related to any craft or combination of same, using power and hand tools and other necessary equipment. Performs a variety of other semi-skilled and skilled work in various crafts such as carpentry, plumbing, welding, painting, electrical work, sheet metal work, masonry, machinist work, etc. Cleans, services, repairs, installs, and diagnoses malfunction of HVAC equipment, sterilizers, laundry and dietary equipment, sprinkler and standpipe systems, ice makers and refrigeration equipment, electrical system and other plant and specialty equipment. Responds to emergency problems in the facility and makes emergency repairs as needed. Provides assistance as security team in emergent conditions or as specified. Maintains logs, performs daily rounds, and completes preventative maintenance work orders, tests, and inspections. Responds to Fire Alarms, Child Elopements, Medical Emergencies, Emergency Response and security alarms. Will be required to take part in weekend/On Call rotation. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Prefer completion of a trade school, journeyman apprenticeship or associate degree in a work related field. Three years experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or in related trades strongly preferred. Familiarity and comfort with Preventive Maintenance/Work Order, Energy Control, Fire Alarm system and Automated Control applications. Valid, current Pennsylvania driver's license. Clearances Required: Act 73 FBI, Act 34 Criminal Clearance, and Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Benefits Summary We're proud to offer generous benefits to our team members.
