The unit consists of 5 operating rooms, including 3 open and 2 hybrid. There are 15 staff members on the unit. Day shift staff includes RN, CST, and PCT, while night shift is on-call. Patient ratios are typically 1:1. Required equipment includes operating room tools and electronic medical record systems, specifically Meditech. Common procedures performed in the unit include CABG, AVR, MVR, aortic replacements, vascular procedures, and heart transplants. Candidates must have a strong skill set essential for the role and will not be considered if these skills are lacking. Preferred candidates will have CNOR certification. The ideal personality fit aligns with organizational culture. Response time for on-call duty is 45 minutes from the phone call to clocking in. Weekends and nights are covered by on-call shifts.
