Published Description: Pay: $60 - $65 per hour Position Summary The School-Based Occupational Therapist (OT) supports students in developing the functional skills necessary to participate fully in academic and school-related activities. The OT provides assessment, intervention, and consultation services to address fine motor, sensory processing, self-care, and adaptive skill needs in accordance with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Key Responsibilities Assessment & Evaluation Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations using standardized assessments, clinical observations, and data analysis. Identify functional limitations that impact a student's educational performance. Prepare detailed evaluation reports and present findings at eligibility and IEP meetings. Participate in reevaluations and review of existing data as required. Intervention & Service Delivery Develop and implement IEP goals related to fine motor skills, sensory integration, visual-motor integration, handwriting, self-care, and adaptive functioning. Provide direct and indirect occupational therapy services in individual and group settings. Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques and strategies. Monitor student progress and adjust intervention plans accordingly. Consultation & Collaboration Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, school psychologists, and other team members. Provide classroom-based strategies and accommodations to support student participation and independence. Consult with parents/guardians regarding student progress and carryover strategies for home. Participate as an active member of IEP and multidisciplinary teams. Compliance & Documentation Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including therapy notes, progress reports, and IEP updates. Ensure compliance with IDEA, Section 504, state regulations, and district policies. Manage caseload and scheduling responsibilities efficiently. Qualifications Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist. National Board Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) required. School-based experience preferred. Strong knowledge of pediatric occupational therapy practices and educational impact. Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills. Physical Requirements Ability to move throughout school buildings and therapy spaces. Ability to lift and assist students as needed (up to 40 pounds, with assistance when required). Ability to engage in floor activities, bending, kneeling, and reaching during therapy sessions. Work Environment School-based setting serving students across various grade levels and disability categories.
