License: Active and in good standing. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Experience with intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) - Experience with Impella - Experience with continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) - Experience with day 2/day 3 post-operative coronary artery bypass grafts (CABGs) - Peds experience is highly preferred Description: The unit is a 10-bed ICU with an average daily census of 5 or more patients. Ratios are typically 1:1 or 1:2 for lower acuity patients. Common diagnoses include open hearts, congestive heart failure (CHF), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), overdose, sepsis, cerebrovascular accidents (CVAs) with tissue plasminogen activator (TPA), diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), and some neuro cases. Adults and patients under the age of 8 will be admitted to the ICU. Patients over the age of 8 will be in a progressive care unit or medical-surgical unit unless they require ICU level of care or need to be transferred. Expected to float to other units as necessary based on census. The schedule typically includes 2 weekend shifts per month, but more may be required based on unit needs. Mandatory overtime may apply based on unit needs. The team emphasizes great teamwork and collaboration. Be punctual and adhere to clocking out for lunch. Termination may occur after three call-outs. Schedule cannot accommodate self-scheduling or blocked scheduling. Holiday shifts for 1 major and 1 minor holiday may be required. Charting is done using an electronic health record system.
