What You’ll Do As a Building Technician, you will directly contribute to LifeLink’s life-saving mission. This position is responsible to ensure the headquarters campus and buildings are maintained as a pleasing, professional business environment, with minimal disruption to building staff and visitors. The staff member would be responsible for +/- 137,000sf of under roof class A building space as well as 11.6 acres of improved property. Key Responsibilities:Inspect building interiors for proper cleaning crew performance – report poor performance issues to supervisor Inspect all coffee & break areas – keeping clean and organized Conduct daily inspections of building exterior Perform general janitorial duties Perform minor repairs Perform general light cleaning including sweeping and mopping floors and stairs, cleaning entry doors and glass, mid-day cleaning of washrooms, and other miscellaneous cleaning as needed Receive shipments at loading dock as required, organize storage areas Coordinate and perform the set-up of all conference rooms for use as directed by the Central Reservations System In addition to the types of work listed above some examples of work would include: Inspect all restrooms and elevators for cleanliness Inventory stock at break rooms, coffee bars and specialty areas Material storage and inventory Equipment operational status checks Light mechanical work Painting, patching, and repairing walls as necessary Observes and reports any equipment or facility deficiencies Assists outside contractors when on premises Assists other departments as assigned Clean and maintain instruments, as required Respond to all after hours emergencies (as required by call schedule) and ensure responsible back-up is available in order to take corrective action as necessary Travel between all LifeLink owned facilities as necessary Other general work assignments as directed by the Office Coordinator Who You ArePassionate about helping others and making a difference Aligned with LifeLink’s core values of Compassion, Excellence, Legacy, People, and Quality Two years experience in a position of Plant Operations or a position of mechanical trades with high school diploma or equivalent. HS Diploma or Equivalent. Self-motivation and attention to detail. Good human relations and communications skills are needed to maintain good working relations with peers, building occupants and their invitees, outside vendors, suppliers and contractors. Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Good knowledge of PC operations and software (Word processing and spreadsheet) are required. Good driving record and current state drivers’ license. A collaborator who thrives in a mission-first environment. Working Conditions: Work may require extended hours. Working environment temperature may vary. Ability to be physically active from light to medium type of work, and must be able to lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or carry, push and/or pull objects weighing up to 75 pounds. Hazardous conditions include, but are not limited to, the use of Gasoline, diesel fuel, liquid nitrogen and Alcohol in the work area. The potential of exposure to and the possibility of obtaining cuts and/or punctures to skin from sharp instruments and service equipment. All necessary safety equipment, PPE and instruction will be provided.
