INNOCEAN USA is seeking local candidates for a Freelance Data Engineer position to join our growing data and analytics team. At INNOCEAN, creativity meets technology. In this role, you will help shape and scale the infrastructure that powers marketing and business intelligence for world-class automotive brands. You will develop and maintain efficient data pipelines, contribute to our analytics ecosystem, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to turn raw data into actionable insights. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using SQL, Python, and Spark to support marketing analytics and business intelligence. • Collaborate with analysts and data scientists to integrate data into Tableau dashboards and data models that influence media strategies. • Ensure high data quality, readability, and reliability through validation, documentation, and monitoring. • Optimize data workflows and transformations in Databricks and other cloud platforms to improve performance and cost efficiency. • Maintain clear, detailed documentation for data models, pipeline architecture, and metadata. • Partner with internal stakeholders in an Agile team environment to iterate quickly and deliver impactful solutions. QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field. • Proficiency in SQL and Python for data manipulation and automation. • Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines in a modern data stack (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, Airflow, dbt). • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. • Understanding of data modeling principles (e.g., star schema, medallion architecture) and foundation in database design, data structures, and algorithms. • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholder groups. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Experience working in a media, marketing, or advertising analytics environment. • Exposure to Delta Lake, Apache Spark, or distributed computing frameworks. • Hands-on experience with dashboarding or BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker. • Familiarity with data governance, version control (Git), and Agile development practices.
