Job Description

Join a dedicated healthcare team providing essential clerical support through care coordination, reception, and chart maintenance. Collaborate closely with health professionals to ensure seamless patient experiences and uphold exceptional customer service standards. Essential Functions Manage admission processes and assist clients with completing admission packets, including necessary releases of information. Complete registration and financial enrollment for new clients. Collect and verify current insurance information for each client. Assess client needs by determining acuity, identifying presenting problems, and gathering relevant historical data. Schedule follow-up appointments based on assigned levels of care. Perform clerical duties and maintain accurate business records. Handle collection responsibilities, including payment of outstanding balances and copays. Provide receptionist duties such as greeting clients, directing them to waiting areas, scheduling appointments, answering phones, and maintaining office appearance. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Knowledge and Skills Proficient computer literacy with familiarity in basic Microsoft tools. Basic experience in alpha-numeric filing. One to three years of experience in medical records, filing, and secretarial duties. Knowledge of referral processing and coordinating access to appropriate treatment. Preferred Education and Experience Three to five years of experience in phone answering, medical records, and filing Personal Health Information (PHI). Training in HIPAA compliance. Some college coursework focused on Microsoft applications and health or behavioral sciences. This role is based in a regional healthcare setting serving communities in the Midwest.
